Historical NoteThis item is associated with Sam Kass, White House Assistant Chef and the Food Initiative Coordinator. In May 2010 he announced the Chefs Move to Schools program on behalf of the Obama administration. Chefs were paired with schools in their communities to create healthy meals and teach young people about nutrition and healthy choices. As part of the First Lady's Let’s Move campaign, the program also showcased culinary arts as a professional field for students to gain interest in and pursue as a potential career field.Custodial History / ProvenanceThis item is material associated with various agencies and offices during the Obama administration and maintained as government property until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
