Physical DescriptionSilver filigree model of a Burmese arched harp called a saung-gauk with a floral motif. The model has a long arched neck with a dangling cone at the top, and 8 strings branching from the neck with dangling cones to the top of the boat shaped body. Harp model rests on a stand with two H shaped legs.
Historical NoteThis item was received during President Barack Obama's visit to Burma in November 2014 for the East Asia Summit and US-ASEAN meeting.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
