Physical DescriptionSleeveless knee-length purple dress with a v-neck, full skirt, and a horizontal striped band at hem. The striped band is is made from alternating sections of fabric and synthetic crinoline which gives the skirt shape and structure.Historical NoteFirst Lady Michelle Obama wore this dress while hosting G8 leaders' spouses for a tour of the White House on May 18, 2012.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the First Lady and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
