Physical Description
Physical DescriptionLeft-handed six-string electric guitar. Body of guitar is walnut wood, with a dark reddish-brown finish and off white plastic pickups, ivory trim around the body, and natural wood toned neck. Tuning pegs are silver-toned metal and headstock has the St. Blues logo painted in gold. Accessories include a blue and black guitar pick with the St. Blues logo, cleaning cloth printed with an image of a guitar and the St. Blues logo, and a key to the guitar case.

Historical NoteMayor AC Wharton, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee gifted this custom-made guitar to President Barack Obama at the White House Memphis Soul Event in April 2013.Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
