Physical DescriptionCommemorative Lincoln-Douglas debate stamps matted in red, white, and blue layers and held in a black frame. There are four stamps, each printed with the same image of the debate, showing Lincoln at a podium in front of the crowd with Douglas standing behind him. Inset paper with information on the stamps includes photographs of Lincoln and Douglas and is stamped with black ink containing the date of the stamp issuance and an outline of Illinois.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
