Elizabeth II was Queen of the United Kingdom and constitutional monarch of 15 sovereign states, known as the Commonwealth realms, and their territories and dependencies, and head of the 53-member Commonwealth of Nations. She reigned from February 6, 1952 until her death on September 8, 2022. As the reigning monarch, she was also the Supreme Governor of the Church of England and, in some of her realms, carried the title of Defender of the Faith as part of her full title. Elizabeth II was the longest reigning British monarch.
