Gul Agha Sherzai, also known as Mohammad Shafiq, is an Afghan politician who served as the Governor of Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan from July 2005 until October 2013. Sherzai had previously served as the Governor of the Kandahar province In the early 1990s and from 2001 until 2003. In 2014 Sherzai was a candidtate for Afghanistan's Presidential Election.
