Aretha Franklin was an American singer and songwriter. She was the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Frame and named was named as the greatest singer of all time twice by Rolling Stone magazine. On January 20th, 2009, Franklin performed "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" at the inauguration of President Barack Obama. Franklin was nicknamed the Queen of Soul.
