In 2009, Kyria Virshelle led a group of St. Louis students on the "Champions 4 Sustainable Change Tour," which stopped at urban gardening sites around the United States, including a stop at the White House to work in the gardens with First Lady Michelle Obama. Virshelle was the director of Meltdown Mondays with the Hip Hop Initiative in St. Louis.
