Roza Otunbayeva is a Kyrgyz diplomat and politician who served as the President of of the Kyrgyz Republic from 2010 until 2011. Otunbayeva took office after overseeing a transitional interim government as Kyrgyzstan moved to a parliamentary democracy system. Prior to becoming national leader, Otunbayev was an elected official in the national parliament as a member of the Committee for Constitutional Legislation and State Building.
