Fukuda Shigeo was a Japanese poster designer, graphic artist, and sculptor. His posters are known for incorporating visual illusions. Fukuda was an evironmentalist who created an iconic poster for Earth Day 1982 that depicts and axe with its head on the ground and a small branch with a leaf growing out of the top.
