Sarah Brady was an American political operative and activist who pushed for stricter gun control laws. Brady began advocating for gun control after her husband, James Brady, who was the Press Secretary to the Reagan Administration, was permanently injured during a the 1981 assassination attempt on President Reagan. Prior to her death, Brady served as the chairmona of both the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence and the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. In 2002, Brady published an autobiography about her work on preventing gun violence.
