Julia Eileen Gillard is an Australian former politician who served as the 27th Prime Minister of Australia, the first woman to hold the position. She served as as the Deputy Prime Minister in 2007 before being elevated to the role of Prime Minister from 2010 until 2013. In February 2014, Gillard was made a chair of Global Partnership for Education.
