Maria Pinto is an American fashion designer who founded her first business in Chicago in 1991. After launching a collection of scarves and wraps, she expanded into evening gowns and ready-to-wear women's clothing. First Lady Michelle Obama was a frequent client; Pinto designed the teal dress she wore at the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
