Gary F. Locke is an American politician who served as Secretary of Commerce from March 2009 - August 2011 and the United States Ambassador to China from August 2011 - March 2014. Prior to these roles, he served as Governor of Washington state from 1997 until 2005, becoming the first Chinese American to serve as a Governor in the United States.
