John Nieto (1936–2018) was an American contemporary artist who concentrated on Native American themes including Native American tribal representatives as well as indigenous wildlife. He was of Mescalero Apache and Hispanic descent. In 1982, Nieto presented President Ronald Reagan with “Delegate to the White House”, a painting that hung in the White House throughout his term and now resides in the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, in Ventura, Calif.
