Mohamed Waheed Hassan is a Maldivian politician who served as the 5th President of the Maldives from February 2012 until November 2013. Prior to becoming President, he served as the Vice President of the Maldives from November 2008 until assuming the role of President following the resignation of the incumbent. Waheed had been active in politics since 1988.
