Charles "Charlie" Sifford was an American professional golfer who desegregated the Professional Golfers' Association as the first African American to join the PGA Tour in 1961. He was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2004. President Barack Obama awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2014.
