Yashar Aliyev is an Azerbaijani diplomat who served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the U.S. from 2006 until 2011. He currently serves as the Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the United Nations, a position he has held since 2014. He had previously served as the Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2002 until 2006.
