Martin McGuinness was a British politician from Northern Ireland who served as the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland from May 2007 until January 2017. McGuinness was Sinn Féin’s chief negotiator in reaching the Good Friday Agreement between the United Kingdom and Ireland in 1998.
