Liu Yongqing is the spouse of Hu Jintao, who served as President of the People’s Republic of China from 2003 to 2013 and as the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party from 2002 until 2012. She often accompanied her husband on official trips to foreign countries and made personal appearances at charities and cultural institutions all over the world.
