Yang Jiechi

Yang Jiechi is a Chinese senior diplomat who served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the People's Republic of China from 2007 until 2013. From 2013 until 2018 Yang went on to serve as a State Councilor of the People's Republic of China. He also served as the Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission from 2013 until 2023. Yang had previously served as the Chinese Ambassador to the United States from 2001 until 2005.
