Michaëlle Jean is a Haitian-born Canadian stateswoman and former journalist who served as Governor General of Canada from January 5, 2005 to January 2, 2010. After serving as Governor General, Jean took office as the Secretary General of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie from 2014 until 2019.
