Physical DescriptionCarving of fossilized ivory (walrus tusk) of two salmon united by a banner near the tail fins engraved with "Protect Bristol Bay Save The Fisherman" on one side and "United Tribes Kuyana of Bristol Bay; President Obama." Reverse inscribed "Eat Wild Salmon." A drum over the tail fins with drumstick crossing out "Pebble Mine." There is a heart on each tail fin on the obverse.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
