Physical DescriptionGold metal brooch in the shape of five types of flowers native to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of the Governor's Spouses Luncheon at the Supreme Court in 2009. The flowers depicting on the brooch are yellow cedar, frangipani, flamboyant, bougainvillea, and hibiscus.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
