Physical DescriptionTwo Superman themed capes for the First Pets. The capes feature a light blue fabric on the exterior with superman symbols printed in continuous rows. Most of the symbols are printed in blue and grey and a few randomly printed in red and yellow. There is a red drawstring sewn onto the top edge of each cape to tie around the neck. The backing of each cape is made from solid red fabric.
Historical NoteThese capes were presented by Ewan Drum, an eight-year-old student who co-founded the organization "Super Ewan" which organized donations of food and clothing to people in need. A short film about his work was featured in the second annual White House Student Film Festival in March 2015.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThese items were gifts from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration.
