Physical DescriptionTwo small hand crank music boxes with metal key and wheel that plays notes. The exterior of each box is light pink with floral decorations, with an illustration on the top depicting Marie Antoinette. On the sides of the boxes are further illustrations of women Rococo style gowns and wigs. Printed on both sides in decorative font is "Château de Versailles et de Trianon. The music boxes play "il pleut, bergère" composed by Louis-Victor Simon. On the bottom of the boxes is a blurb in French with information on the music.Custodial History / ProvenanceThese items were gifts from a foreign official to Malia and Sasha Obama during the Obama Administration. They were received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until their transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
