Physical DescriptionThree patterned Ghanaian kente cloths. The fabric is predominantly orange with green, light purple, and red details in rectangular patterned boxes in alternating rows of checkers and geometric patterns.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a working visit to the White House by Ghanaian President John Evans Atta Mills in March, 2012.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThese items were gifts from a foreign official to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. They were received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until their transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
