Physical DescriptionTwo handmade wooden frames containing a photograph of black-eyed susan flowers and a blue swallowtail. A handwritten message on an index card is on the reverse.
Inscriptions and MarkingsCard on back: "Serenity Preserved; The butterfly had a perfect lie. I gently but firmly set my feet and leaned toward it with my then (8/02) approximately 33 year old 35mm SLR for the closest picture. Focused. Held my breath. Click. Serenity on film. I inherited the camera in 1973, the year my father died. Golf metaphor inspired by Emily Flanigan."
Custodial History / ProvenanceThese items were gifts from a member of the general public to Malia and Sasha Obama during the Obama Administration.
