Physical DescriptionMen's varsity style jacket with a blue wool felted body and white leather sleeves. Over the right breast there is a white Nike swoosh. Over the left breast is a patch with the logo for the United States Paralympic Team which includes an American flag and the three agitos of the Paralympic logo. A patch on the left shoulder is in the shape of the American flag. Embroidered on the back in white is "The United States of America". Jacket closes with a center zipper and has navy elastic at the wrists, waist, and neck.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a ceremony at the White House on September 14, 2012 to honor the 2012 United States Olympic and Paralympic teams.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
