Physical DescriptionMilitary style marching band jacket in purple, yellow, and white, with gold buttons. Body of the jacket is purple with yellow stripes at each button and white swirling piping around the stripes. An additional yellow stripe and white piping is at each wrist. The center of the jacket has a white faux jabot with yellow on the ruffles and a yellow cumberbun sewn at the waist. The buttons have a debossed design of a harp. Embroidered at each shoulder in white is the word "Rochelle".
Historical NoteGift was received from the manager of the music production company for OK Go!, which performed at President Barack Obama's 50th birthday campaign fundraiser in Chicago in August 2011. The jacket was used in the music video for "This Too Shall Pass", featuring OK Go and members of the Notre Dame marching band.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
