Physical DescriptionSet of six standard and silver proof quarter-dollar coins minted and issued in 2009 in honor of the District of Columbia and the five U.S. Territories: the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Each set includes four coins, three silver clad with mint marks from Philadelphia (P), Denver (D), and San Francisco (S); one silver proof coin minted in San Francisco (S). The entire set is housed in a collector's album with circular insets. Obverse quarter elements:
(.a-d) District of Columbia: Duke Ellington seated at a grand piano.
(e-h) Puerto Rico: A sentry box at Castillo San Felipe del Morro and a maga flower.
(i-l) Guam: An outline of the island, a proa boat, and a latte stone.
(m-p) American Samoa: An ava bowl, whisk and staff in the foreground with a coconut tree on the shore in the background.
(q-t) U.S. Virgin Islands: An outline of the three major islands, the bananaquit, the yellow cedar or yellow elder, and a tyre palm tree.
(u-x) Northern Mariana Islands: Near the shore stand a large limestone latte, a canoe of the indigenous Carolinians, two white fairy terns, and a mwar (head lei).
