Physical DescriptionTwo small metal crosses made out of bullet casings fired in Liberia (.a-b). Inscribed on the base with the make and year. One bullet casing is from 1977 (.a) and the other is from 1980 (.b).

Historical NoteAs thanks for the creation of the White House Council on Women and Girls and the positive example that it set for the rest of the world, former Ambassador Swanee Hunt presented these crosses, made from bullet casings by a street vendor in Liberia, to Tina Tchen, Executive Director of the Council.Custodial History / ProvenanceThis item is material associated with various agencies and offices during the Obama administration and maintained as government property until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
