Physical DescriptionAn eight-piece china tea service designed for Michelle Obama to give out as gifts at the Pittsburgh Summit 2009. Set includes a teapot (.a) with lid (.b), two tea cups (.c-d), two saucers (.e-f), a glass honey jar and dropper (.g-h), and presentation box (.i). All the porcelain pieces feature the same design of a solid purple band that sits below a silver band decorated with swirling figure-8 like designs with dots. Each piece also has a silver band on the edge, or rim, of the piece, and each tea cup has a silver handle. The saucers feature painted flowers in the center, and the tea cups each have a single flower painted on the bottom of the interior. The teapot lid has a silver finial on top, and a single silver band along the bottom edge. On the underside of the teapot are two hand painted groupings of flowers, one on either side of an inscription.
