Physical DescriptionLarge bauble ornament painted primarily gold with a color block depicting a sandy beach and the ocean at sunset. The bottom color is blue with adhered gray paper to create waves, the middle color is a sea foam green, and the upper color is yellow. In gold-toned glitter the word "Malibu" covers on side. To the upper left of the words there is a large sun made of paper and pipe cleaners. On the reverse there is an attached image depicting a Malibu beach. Attached at the top is a blue ribbon embroidered with the word "rejoice" in yellow thread.
Historical NoteThis Christmas ornament was part of the holiday display for the 2009 White House Blue Room Tree.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThis item is material associated with various agencies and offices during the Obama administration and maintained as government property until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
