Physical DescriptionA Bo Obama sculpture made out of black and white ribbon with a mechanical head. The sculpture is attached to a nine-volt plug and a variable voltage plug set to seven volts.
Historical NoteAs a part of the Maker Movement and the Obama Administration's broader support to highlight the importance of making to American innovation, staff from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the Presidential Innovation Fellows group created life-sized, animated "dog-bot" versions of Bo and Sunny. This "Bo-bot" mechanical sculpture of first dog Bo includes a moving head and was created for the 2014 White House holiday decorations.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThis item is material associated with various agencies and offices during the Obama administration and maintained as government property until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
