Physical DescriptionAn academic hood of blue gabardine fabric, dark blue synthetic velvet around the front and collar, and gold and blue chevron of synthetic satin in the center hood. The exterior edge is lined in gold synthetic satin. Synthetic black strings at center, front of the hood and across the back that loops over a black button on the opposite side.Historical NotePresident Barack Obama wore this hood when he was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Notre Dame on May 17, 2009.
