Physical Description
Physical DescriptionPrint of a graphic representation of a silver bud vase. The illustrated vase is shown in profile, with a hexagonal honeycomb design that begins along the base and fades near the top. There is a silver honey bee attached to the top right edge of the vase. The print is mounted in a white matboard portfolio hinged at the top.
Inscriptions and MarkingsPrinted in center of obverse: Sterling Silver Bud Vase with honeycomb pattern and bee. The vase features a playful arrangement of the honeycomb pattern. This gift captures the First Lady's passion for beekeeping. The bee works for a cause greater than itself. The vase can be engraved with a personal inscription.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThis item is material associated with various agencies and offices during the Obama administration and maintained as government property until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
