Physical DescriptionA pair of L-shaped crystal bookends. Each piece consists of two pieces of crystal with the vertical piece glued to the base piece at the back. One bookend (.a) features a rounded top with a square base that has clipped corners at the front. Engraved on the back and showing through to the front is the Seal of the President of the United States. The other bookend (.b) also features a rounded top and a shorter square base with clipped corners.

Historical NoteThese bookends are an example of the diplomatic gifts that the US Department of State would give to foreign leaders during the Obama Administration. The bookends were an intended gift to Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen of Cambodia on the occasion of the East Asia Summit held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in November 2012.Custodial History / ProvenanceThis item is material associated with various agencies and offices during the Obama administration and maintained as government property until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
