Physical DescriptionLarge black glass and gold-gilded decorative box with the Seal of the President of the United States on the top and a depiction of an olive branch on the sides. The top and bottom panels of the glass are black and the sides are gold. On the inside of the lid at center is President Barack Obama's signature engraved and gilded in gold. Each side panel has a striped border on the top and bottom with laurels and a slightly curved olive branch in the center.Historical NoteThis Peace Box is an example of the diplomatic gifts that the US Department of State would give to foreign leaders during the Obama Administration.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThis item is material associated with various agencies and offices during the Obama administration and maintained as government property until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
