Physical DescriptionWhite embroidered tablecloth (.a) with 12 matching napkins (.b-k). The tablecloth has an ornate lace-like design at its center and smaller ornate designs throughout the rest of the fabric with small gray X's with colors in the empty space of the X filling out the rest of the fabric. The primary color used is gray and the rest of the colors are purple, pink, burgundy, light blue, and green. The tablecloth is made of multiple pieces of fabric stitched together having one large centerpiece of fabric, a strip of fabric along each edge, and a corner piece. Each napkin has a gray border and a small X design in one corner.Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a White House showing of CNN Film's "We Will Rise", featuring First Lady Michelle Obama. The film follows the First Lady, Meryl Streep, Freida Pinto, and Isha Sesay as they visit young women in Liberia and Morocco who are overcoming incredible odds in order to change their lives.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
