Physical DescriptionA paper-mache decorative doll depicting a man in traditional Japanese wedding ceremony attire. He is wearing a blue and gold kimono with light pink sleeves, and his hair is tied up in a sangtu with a headband. The doll is holding a sword in its left hand. A bronze-colored string is attached at the top.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of a meeting between President Barack Obama and 2016 Nobel Laureates in the Oval Office on November 30, 2016.Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration.
