Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionA cream scroll with handwritten black Chinese characters. The text is from Lao Zi's Deodejing Chapter 57, which discusses leading a country. The scroll is tied with brown ribbons. The scroll is stamped with three red maker's marks. The cream paper is backed with silver floral fabric that has brown paper edges.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration.
