Physical DescriptionPhysical DescriptionA female doll with brown eyes and dark curly hair. The doll is dressed in a dress made of plastic canvas needlepoint, with the bodice and skirt ruffles stitched together. The doll is adorned with a white flower head lei and a matching bracelet lei. The gown features colorful diamond designs. The left side of the skirt is stitched in American flag colors (red, white, and blue) with a blue geometric pattern and silver star embellishments. The right side of the gown is stitched in pan-African colors (green, yellow, black, and red) and is embellished with black beads in a similar geometric pattern. The bodice is red and yellow, and features green and silver gems and a plastic pearl belt.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration.
