Physical DescriptionBlue and green floral patterned fit and flare silk dress with a portrait neckline and box pleated skirt. The inner lining has a plastic band at the bottom hem to give it structure. Interior snap straps under the shoulders for undergarment support.Historical NoteFirst Lady Michelle Obama wore this dress at the Medal of Honor ceremony for Chief Master Sergeant Richard L. Etchberger on September 21, 2010 and at the White House Kids' State Dinner on August 20, 2012.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the First Lady and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
