Physical DescriptionEvening gown with gold embellished bodice, plunging neckline, and a black and gold paint-like embroidered duchess satin skirt. The bodice has various floral embellishments such as woven metallic flowers, amber crystals, metallic sequins, and purple-violet circular glass beads.
Historical NoteFirst Lady Michelle Obama wore this gown at the Governors' Ball on February 23, 2014.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the First Lady and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
