Physical DescriptionLarge gold-colored ring paperweight with navy blue enamel accents and inset clear glass stones. The face of the ring has a gold N [for the Naval Academy] with inset stones in the center surrounded by an oval-shaped navy blue enamel shape and two rows of clear inset stones. Text around the edge: "Commander in Chief's Trophy" and navy blue and clear inset stones. The right and left sides of the band have inscriptions; the left side has a depction of the US Capitol Building and the right has a depiction of the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy. The inside is brushed metal.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of President Barack Obama presenting the Commander-in-Chief Trophy to the United States Naval Academy football team on April 27, 2016.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
