Physical DescriptionTwo framed Villanova Wildcats basketball jerseys. There jersey on the left is white with an embroidered Villanova logo at the base of the collar, an embroidered "BIG EAST" logo and a "USS ARIZONA BB-39" patch on the left chest, and "VILLANOVA" "44" embroidered in navy blue and light blue on the chest. The right jersey is navy blue with an "NCAA FINAL FOUR" logo patch stitched the top of the jersey, and "OBAMA" "44" embroidered in white and light blue at the center of the jersey. There is a card at the top and the bottom that dedicates the framed jerseys to President Barack Obama and note that they are from the 2016 Villanova Wildcats team.
Historical NoteReceived on May 31, 2016 on the occasion of a reception at the White House for the Villanova Men's Basketball team to commemorate their victory in the 2016 NCAA Men's College Basketball National Championship.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to the First Family during the Obama administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
