Physical DescriptionArt print depicting a F-16 fighter jet flying over the Air Force Academy with the Rocky Mountains in the background. There is an orange streak in the sky towards the left of the painting, representing the Waldo Canyon Wildfire, and fluffy clouds in the right. Small details are hidden throughout the piece such as the names of the First Family in the mountains, the dates of the Presidency near the chapel, and references to things specific to the Air Force Academy Class of 2016. In the bottom right corner there are depictions of three emblems in a row: the Presidential Seal, the Air Force Academy Ring, and Air Force Academy Emblem. There is an engraved gold-toned presentation plaque in the bottom center of the frame.

This painting was commissioned by the United States Air Force Academy graduating class of 2016.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Barack Obama during the Obama Administration. It was received through the Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.
