Physical DescriptionDark purplish-brown leather presentation box. The exterior is debossed with diagonal and vertical lines and rows of dots. The top is debossed with geometric shapes that form a floral design with four inset gray speckled stones. Closes with a leather latch over a metal fixture. The interior has a woven natural fiber lining. Box sits on four legs.
Historical NoteReceived on the occasion of the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit hosted in Washington, DC. from March 31 - April 1.
Custodial History / ProvenanceThe item was a gift from a foreign official to First Lady Michelle Obama during the Obama administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January 2017 for deposit with the Obama Presidential Library.Additional Details
